The LAccolade Foundation provided support for Photo Saint-Germain, an annual event that leads viewers on a photographic journey curated by a selection of Left Bank museums, cultural centers, galleries, and bookstores in Paris. The program is filled with lectures, film screenings, book signings, and studio visits related to the planned exhibitions. Our support will take the form of a donation.

California on Fire, Jeff Frost

Additionally, Fondation LAccolade will schedule a screening and discussion of California on Fire by Californian photographer Jeff Frost (25 min, 2018) at the Les 3 Luxembourg movie theater. The film has earned multiple awards including the Clermont-Ferrard. In the film, Frost shows the magnitude of the fires that have ravaged California, which are a consequence of climate change according to the scientific community.

The screening will be followed by a virtual discussion with filmmaker and philosopher Joëlle Zask, author of When the Forest Burns (Quand la forêt brûle), published by Premier Parallèle in 2019 and winner of France Culture’s Prix Pétrarque for essays in 2020. This essay investigates the novel features of these "mega-fires" and the scale of their environmental destruction, which is unprecedented in human history.
